Anddddd this is why the world needs me

I saved a stray cat's life last night. Okay, fine, I almost did. My friend called me and told me that she saw a stray cat playing by the sewer. When she looked back, it had fallen in. Cue the movie images of the sewers filled with rushing water, garbage, and who knows what else, a la Finding Nemo. Cue the images of a poor, bedraggled skinny cat gasping for air in the foul water.

I guess I have a rather over-active imagination.

Anyway, she'd called me because she was on her way to class, and couldn't be late. We decided the best route was for me to go check it out, because, you know, who knows better than I how to fish a stray cat out of a sewer?

Turns out the cat did. It actually ran to me, tail up in all its fluffy glory, not a bit like the skinny stray cat I'd pictured....because it was a regular house cat.

So I lied. I didn't save a stuck cat in the sewer, and it wasn't even stray. But it's the thought that counts, right?
